Board Certified Music Therapist, Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow
Amanda is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and has her registration through the State of Wisconsin (WMTR), with additional training as a Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow (NMT-F). She has also completed Tier 1 competencies for the First Sounds: Rhythm, Breath, and Lullaby Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Training.
Amanda holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Concordia University Wisconsin and an Equivalency in Music Therapy from Alverno College. She completed her internship with Music Therapy Services of Central Wisconsin in 2018, and was offered a professional position shortly thereafter, beginning her career with MTSCW in April 2018. With experience across a wide range of settings, Amanda has worked with diverse populations, including memory care, inpatient psychiatric care, oncology treatment, palliative care, intensive care units, neuro-rehabilitation, and individuals with developmental needs. Her passion for music therapy was ignited when her grandmother, after suffering a stroke, was still able to sing the lyrics to her favorite songs despite losing the ability to speak.
Amanda currently specializes in providing music therapy services to individuals with developmental and neurological needs. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as Lead Internship and Student Supervisor, mentoring the next generation of music therapists.
Amanda is deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for her clients through the power of music and continues to be inspired by the profound impact music therapy has on individuals and their families.
